Differential expression result

The differential expression result was calculated using the comparison HP1_vs_none_2h of data set GSE45322.


With the default cutt-offs adjusted P-value <=0.05 and abs[logFC] >=0.585 or abs(FC) >=1.5, there are 41 genes in RED detected as differentially expressed genes (DEGs). The genes were ordered by ascending Adj_P_Value.



Table columns explanation:


Ensembl ID - Ensembl gene identifier based on Ensembl database.


HGNC automatic name and HGNC curated name - Most human genes have an associated HGNC symbol from the HUGO Gene Nomenclature Committee. If the gene or transcript comes from the Ensembl Genebuild's automated pipeline only, the HGNC symbol will have HGNC automatic associated with it. If it is a manually curated transcript from Havana/Vega, it will have HGNC curated associated with it. (Ref: link).


log2_fold_change - log2 value of the fold change (FC) in expression between sample groups. E.g. 1 means that one group had on average half the expression of the other group. -1 reverses the direction of the comparison.


AveExpr - average (log2) expression value across both sample groups. (*Available for one channel data.)


Adj_P_Value - P value for differential expression adjusted using the Benjamini-Hochberg correction to control the false discovery rate (FDR).
